One in a million

“Indeed, the very hairs of your heard are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” -Luke 12:7

When I first read this I didn’t really like the idea of being compared to birds. But then I looked at the verse before it.

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.” -Luke 12:6

So, God doesn’t forget his sparrows, they are special to him in a way. Now if the sparrows who are sold for merely two pennies are special to God, we also are special, every hair on our head is numbered. That is pretty special!

So we know how special we are to God, what does it mean to be One in a million?

One in a million is merely a saying, which is usually taken to mean: Someone or something is unique. Everyone is special to God, as we’ve already discovered and through that some people ignore the fact, some people don’t know the fact, and some people do.

So, when God the father, sent his son, Jesus a few people ignored him or hated him, a few people didn’t know that he was God the son, and a few people did and loved him for who he was. That is the sinful order of our world. A few people don’t like my company, a few people (quite a few) don’t know who I am, and a few people love me for being the person I am. So this seems to make it clear that every person is sinful, and the same.

This is where we go into the uniqueness of every singe human being.

“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” -Isaiah 64:8

I absolutely love the description of God being our potter, and we his clay. I make polymer clay jewellery, and it’s hard work, but the end result is every part my favourite! That’s what it’s like with God, he makes us and he loves us. Every being unique, everyone with different gifts, every single person INCOMPARABLE!

Our uniqueness is what sets us from other people. I in person know that some people prefer to be like others. Over time you notice how, the more they try to become similar to the other, the more the look different.

You were fearfully and wonderfully made everyone unique and that shows God loves us very much giving every a unique special gift, and giving us the free will to decide wether we want to follow him or not.

This is why have chosen to follow this loving God till my last breath, and longer.
